Birthday...

It has, once again, been a VERY long time since I've actually had a chance to set down and write an entry....we have had a busy summer with work schedules, visits, you name it- we've had it...but now that I have a few moments free I thought I would sit down and write a quick update. Last month was Rajiv's 1st birthday...it was great- he had a fun time anyway- Mommy and Daddy didn't have such a fun time cleaning up, but all in all it was worth it. We had an open house for friends and family to stop by and we took a LOT of pictures, only a few of which I will include today. July has been fun- Rajiv loves to swim and we've taken him to the lake a few times now. Andrew and I also had our first water tubing experience- which was an...experience....
And we are now looking forward to the fall with all of its busyness. Love to all my friends and family out there! Hope you are having a wonderful summer!

UPDATE!

Ok, so it has been FOREVER since I updated my little blog here...and sooo much has happened over the past month and a half...or two...or three...or however long it has been....
First, Andrew's mom came and visited us. SHe flew in from Papua New Guinea and stayed with us about a month. It was a lot of fun and she was such a huge help to us. Rajiv loved her and bonded with her immediatly....it was so hard to see her leave. She is a wonderful person and hopefully we see her again soon.
Next on the list, I am now doing a job I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! (For the first time in the history of my life...hahah) I am teaching in Cincinnati Public Schools...third grade assistant...and its awesome...
hmmm...other than that we are keeping busy...Rajiv is a full time job in itself...he is very proficient at crawling...pulling himself up to things and breaking, ripping, pulling apart, and eating whatever he can get his chubby little hands on. A lot of fun, but a lot of work. So far there is no room in the house that hasn't seen his destruction...but he makes us laugh and is worth every moment of chasing and picking up after....
well....I had better turn in...early morning tomorrow! HOpe everyone out there in blogger world is doing wonderful...feel free to email or call anytime! Love to all!

It has been awhile since my last post....(*cough cough...ok, ok....a very long while...) Things have been quite busy here...and between sickness and finals....and the usual mundane tasks...I have not had a minute to write...So here goes. Not a lot of important things happening really, we all seem to have a sickness rotation. One will get sick, and during their reckovery another one will catch it, and so it goes.....Rajiv has yet to get over his little runny nose, and I feel sorry for him, we went to the doctor on friday and got some meds (which I hate to give him, but want him to get better...so I have no choice) and so we are hoping that improves things....
Other than that we are doing great....doing the usual...this family friday (yes, every friday is family friday...it's a tradition here in the Maka household...) anyhoo...this friday we went to not only the doctor's office, but also to the new IKEA, I managed to snap a few shots...and here are a couple of Rajiv in his "Pod". Enjoy :)

The Sounds of Sunday....

Today was definitely not a typical sunday in the Maka household...first of all, outside is still very much a winter wonderland...as a result, church was delayed...which was fine, we all woke up, started getting ready, and about 30 mins before walking out the door, we realized that we had neglected to set our clocks ahead, thus missing service entirely....

So, we are spending another day at home. Andrew loves playing the guitar, and Rajiv loves "playing" it too....I loved this picture of them, so I decided to post it....

friday....

Today we awoke to ice and snow...the winter weather is hanging on with all its might! We are snowed in...but having fun...it's nice in a way not to really have anything to do!

Things are going well...we recently purchased a car...and took some photos...as you can tell from the pictures, these of course were taken when the weather was warmer....It is amazing what a week can do :)
